In search of the elusive "Moped Girl"... Due to my current demotion to "trainer" rides only I have been getting a little bit of cabin fever lately. This is only compounded by the fact that the weather has warmed up to the 60's and there isn't a cloud in the sky for the last three days. So today I decided to go out for a walk and peruse the town. During my walk I started for the downtown area and then circled around to visit a local coffee shop and make a trip to the bakery. Along the way I could hear a high pitched hum. Is this a swarm of bees ... some remote control plane ... not a chance, it's "Moped Girl". You ask yourself, "Who is Moped Girl?" This is as much a mystery to me as it is you I bet. But I will try to clarify the problem for you a little. First of all, I know there are women here in Oostende. I have seen them around in the form of Moped Girl. Moped Girl isn't just one girl in particular, but many different girls who all seem to appear from nowhere, grace me with their beautiful self for a brief three to four seconds, and then disappear into the streets of Oostende. The mystery lies in where does Moped Girl come from or moreover, where is Moped Girl going? I would like to know, because where she is going, I would like to be. Everywhere there are single guys and girls there is invariably a place where many of them congregate. In Plano, Texas; my last place of any reasonable length of residence, it was the local Starbucks on nice days, Denny's on cold days, and Deep Elem clubbing district on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. So where is the "Denny's" of Oostende? It's more than likely where Moped Girl is when she is going out and obviously not where I am when she is out. Consider the investigations of "The Denny's of Oostende" officially open. I will be pursuing this on free nights, investigating local bars, clubs, coffee shops, and tea rooms till I find Moped Girl. -Gregg Germer- |
