I guess I will start at the beginning, it seems like a good place. I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. Lived there for about two years and then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. The Big Easy, New Orleans, was a great place because of the people, the most friendly neighbors around. After 10 years in New Orleans I moved to Houston, Texas during the summer between 6th and 7th grade. This was when I got into cycling. How I started cycling? It's an interesting story. When I moved to Houston it was right before school started, so we stayed with my Uncle for a couple of days to find a house to rent. While there me and my brother were fighting and my Uncle decided to take us out to the Alkek Velodrome to wear off some of the energy we had. I didn't know what to expect, but once I saw the velodrome, I knew it was something I would like to do and from then on I was hooked. Ummm... what else... I have a great family, one brother, Chris, two parents, Denise and Gregg Sr. Many great friends, so many to name, but just a shout out to a few... Tyler Y., Melissa M., Sheldon B., Jeff S., Joe T., John B., Nick K., and Doug B.. I have a great cycling team in Houston to, the Ambush Racing Team, the best bunch of crazy guys one can ask for. I have been to two different colleges, the University of Houston and Collin County Community College. I want to eventually get a degree in Sports Management, but my schooling has been put on hold while I pursue cycling. I spent two years in Europe racing for an amatuer team before moving on to the professional ranks with the Flanders Pro Cycling team for two years. After that I took a year off to help with my family and then signed for the Klaipeda Splendid Cyclingteam in Belgium for 2007. -Gregg- |
