Welcome to the training section of my website. Here I will post my weekly training files from my SRM Pro in CyclingPeaks .wko format. All to often I have heard people say that there is a lack of power files to look at, especially from the pros. Well here is your chance to see all of mine. My training has just become an open book for all to see. I welcome any ideas, praise, criticism, or just comments in general. |

Below is a full season of training information I have posted online while I was racing for the Flanders Professional Team in Europe. I have signed with a new professional European team in 2007 and will update this page with new files once I start to race some and have good and interesting files to post. -Gregg- Need to know info:
A little background for those who do not know me: My background in cycling is in being a track rider from the time I was 13 to about 18. At 18 I decided to switch to the road and start training for the endurance based side of cycling. At 20 I started my European adventures and have been coming to Europe each year since to race. In 2004 I received my first pro contract and had it renewed for 2005 with the Flanders Pro Cycling Team. I currently don't use a coach and plan my training myself. I have had many coaches who have influenced my training methods, Steve Volski, Todd Launt, and Corey Hart, being the most influential. I read all the training information I can get my hands on and seek more information all the time to improve my understanding and knowledge. I really feel being able to have the knoweldge to coach yourself is a great advantage because you learn to know your body better and listen to it. Still it takes a great amount of self-disipline to self-coach. That being said I still have a group of people with whom I go to for the 'outsiders' perspective of my training. Most of my training is geared toward the developing my aerobic engine and increasing it's threshold as much as possible. My years of track riding left me with a great anaerobic engine, but not the greatest aerobic. If I had a choice between the gym and a road ride as junior it was the gym. This isn't all bad, as I have noticed that my aerobic development still has a lot of potential and when it can be brought up to a level to compete with top level pros I do believe a good years worth of work on my anaerobic abilities will have me be a good sprinter. My biggest strengths are sprinting, my ability to suffer and to ride smart at the front of a race. My biggest weakness are climbing and my ability to suffer. My is my ability to suffer is both a strength and a fault because I have found that I will push my self so hard in a race they will be completely screwed for two days. My goals for 2005 are to place top 5 in a UCI 1.1 or above race. I know this is possible given the chance of a field sprint and my abilities to weave and find the right line.
